Samsung also aims to more than treble its smartphone sales from about 6 million in 2009, Shin Jong-kyun, head of Samsung's mobile division, told reporters.

Most research firms expect the mobile phone market to grow 6-7 percent in 2010, while Samsung wants to post shipment growth of at least double the market average, Shin said.
