We’re all being encouraged to do our bit, but sometimes we need a little help. That’s why O2 is helping us become a little more conscious about the environment by launching the UK’s first eco rating scheme. The scheme will help the 44% of consumers who said environmental factors would have an influence on a mobile phone purchase, as well as highlighting the issue to the remaining 56%. The top rated phone, with a score of 4.3 out of 5 is the Sony Ericsson Elm, part of the GreenHeart range. It has been developed in conjunction with independent sustainability specialists Forum for the Future, with input from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, HTC, LG, Samsung and Palm – 93% of the handsets ranged by O2. So, no Apple then. O2 is now calling on the entire industry to implement this scheme. News Source: whatmobile.net
